Villamartin

 Orihuela Costa, Alicante - 18 holes
This famous Putman designed course opened in 1972 and has been the focal point of Mediterranean golf since that time. Host of the 1994 Med Open, a challenging, well established course set in lush natural parkland, with olive trees and colourful oleander lining the fairways. There are well placed bunkers and fast greens, making this a challenging course for all playing levels. Holes 14 (Par 5) and 17 (par 3) leave their mark on every player! The tennis courts, large swimming pool with sunloungers and cool shady spots, bar and restaurant, are set within Villamartin Golf Club for use by golfers and families alike. The lively, cosmopolitan Villamartin Plaza offers a large variety of bars and restaurants for every taste and budget.

 Orihuela Costa, Alicante - 18 holes
This was designed by Jose Grancedo and inaugurated in 1991 under the direction of the Villamartin Management and therefore known locally as "Villamartin II". The challenging 18 offers, as the name suggests, a wonderful rambling course through valleys and over rugged terrain including two lakes within undulating countryside and beautiful scenery. This is a course with "attitude". Book in advance. In between Villamartin and Campoamor. There are other top courses all within 30 minutes drive of the villa including "La Finca" and "Quesada" and the world famous "La Manga" is just over an hour away.

A larger course than Villamartin at 6,796 yards, its wide fairways make it a slightly easier course as does its lack of established trees. A beautiful course maintained to a high standard with breathtaking views over the Mediterranean. Book in advance. Only two miles from Villamartin, Campoamor was opened in 1989. It is the most panoramic of the courses in the region and will soon be challenging as a venue for major championships. The expansive fairways, excellent greens and the lakes deceive the player somewhat, making this is a long and testing course with six "dog legs" to keep you on your toes. Campoamor has a small bar and restaurant and offers the usual services such as club and trolley hire and practice areas.

La Finca is a new course near San Miguel (about six miles from Torrevieja and Villamartin), with fantastic greens. It is long, with water everywhere. La Finca is the newest golf course in the Southern Costa Blanca area, having been splendidly built in September 2000 by the developers of the Villamartin golf course. Located near the towns of Algorfa and Orihuela, and a relatively short journey to the superb beaches of Guardamar and La Marina, the location has magnificent views inland towards the beautiful mountainous landscape in the north.

Lo Romero Golf course is located close to the coastal town of Pilar de la Horadada, on the border of Murcia Province and Alicante. It is an 18 hole, par 72 course, with a practice range and a temporary clubhouse. The course was officially opened on January 26th 2008. The course is set in a beautiful landscape, surrounded by orange and lemon tree plantations. Lo Romero Golf's location is fantastic as it is only 5 minutes to the beach and if you go inland the nearest town is Pinar de Campoverde, which is set within one of the largest pine forests in the area.

Mar Menor
Originally the golf course was designed by Dave Thomas as a 9-hole course, however Mar Menor is now set to extend its golf course from 9 to 18 holes. With the new extension to this popular development it will eventually boast a Jack Nicklaus 18 hole golf course, a sports centre, tennis courts and a new commercial centre. The Mar Menor Golf Resort is located on the site of a former citrus orchard, and is designed around the focal point of the social and leisure centre and the main club house. The whole development is in secluded private surroundings with 24-hour security. There are wide avenues and streets linking gardens to parks and golfing greens. There are exclusive shops, restaurants and a supermarket home delivery service. There is even a nursery school for the very young. And the whole development uses an ecological friendly watering system with recycled water.
LaTorre
At this 18-hole, Par 68, Jack Nicklaus design golf course you will enjoy a beautiful club house, a pro shop, driving range and if need, a golf school. When playing at this golf course you will find be tested with water coming into your play. You will have to play across the lake that surrounds the town centre.
La Serena
The professional 18-hole, par-72 course is over 6,100 metres long and was constructed in accordance with rules and regulations of the European and United States Golf Association (EGA USGA). It starts and ends in an area offering all facilities for practicing this favoured past time. You will find there the club house, pro shop and driving range. In addition, a golf school provides the opportunity to learn with experienced instructors. If living near or on a golf course has ever been your dream, here it will be your very own garden, with no crowds and an ideal climate.
Las Ramblas
The Las Ramblas golf course is located between two ravines on the shore of the Mediterranean. It is also situated next to a luxury housing estate. The course is known for its narrow fairways and greens. Accurate hitting and precision are required when hitting the ball to maintain your handicap. There are only four holes where water does not feature, and the course has some memorable holes. The rocky terrain is spectacular, with elevated tees, narrow fairways and lightning fast greens.

Hacienda del Alamo
The first Hacienda del Alamo golf course is masterly, thanks to the painstaking work of Dave Thomas, who had all the land he could want to design it, with this idea in mind: There are no limits. That is to say, first we made the dream field, with no restrictions on space, as if nothing else existed. And then, we used the same criteria with the houses: just enough of them so that the resort would have plenty of breathing room with broad open spaces. For this reason, our first golf course is one of the best in Europe. It is no less than 92 hectares. It is wide, with long holes, spacious, and with many lakes. It is very soft, because it is built on natural terrain.
El Valle
he new El Valle Golf Resort is situated in a beautiful natural desert valley. The golf course is routed in a “core” format that groups several holes together while keeping the surrounding development on the perimeter. This means many holes border other golf holes and not houses, creating a more open and natural golf experience. Rather than length, the course relies on numerous subtle strategic elements to challenge golfers. This course puts a premium on accuracy, not power, and favors the intelligent player who can manage their game.
